Burundi Karira Natural Filter - Single Origin.

Like many of its neighbours in Africa, Burundi produces microlots almost by default. Each farmer owns an average of less than a single hectare, and delivers cherries to centralised depulping and washing stations.

This purchasing style makes it nearly impossible to arrive at single-producer, single-farm, or single-variety lots. instead, coffees are typically sold under the appellation of the washing station.

At TIB Coffee, the goal is to help their farmers live a good life by producing the highest quality coffee they can. their vision is to make a true sustainable impact on communities and farmers by forming strong partnerships around specialty coffee production particularly focused to produce quality. TIB Coffee acquired a piece of land in Karambo hill, Gasorwe commune, Muyinga District, for the construction of their coffee washing station, Karambo CWS. Nestled in the northeastern region of Burundi, Muyinga District offers an ideal climate for processing high-quality specialty coffee

Muyinga District is one of the two provinces that produce good coffee in Burundi (the other being Kayanza District) This coffee has undergone a unique anaerobic natural process; producing a delicious and layered coffee, full of winey and sugary qualities we have grown to love from this type of processing.
